Mr. Zhang Yan (D2) gave an oral presentation at a top conference on augmented reality, IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR) 2020.
Conventional optical see-through HMDs have a narrow field of view and it is difficult to control the occlusion on a pixel-by-pixel basis. The proposed HMD has succeeded in achieving both an extremely wide field of view close to 180 degrees and controlling the pixel-wise occlusion. It contributes to the realization of more realistic AR. This is a collaborative study with 3D Visualization and Imaging Systems Lab, The University of Arizona.
